Weekend Receptionist/DM

Fresh is currently seeking a fun, fresh individual to be part of our team. You must be highly motivated and committed to delivering a high standard of customer service. Experience would be preferred, but full training will be given to the successful candidate.

As you are the first friendly face that our customers will see, it is essential that you are out-going, welcoming and are available to assist with all of their needs.

Job Brief

  • You will be accountable to the General Manager, and report in to the Reception Manager. As a receptionist, you will be responsible for front of house provision at Fresh, ensuring customer queries
  • The applicant will be required to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as part of a rota.
  • The applicant will be required to wear casual/smart clothing to adhere to the company dress code (no denim).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a friendly and professional welcome to all customers; presenting a positive image.
  • Take ownership of customer enquiries, providing information or a suitable solution.
  • Assist members in checking-in on our membership system.
  • Manage and protect sensitive customer information in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Being the first point of contact with all clients - in person, over the phone and through email.
  • Ensuring that you are fully aware of the days schedule and appointments in order to direct clients and staff – review the classes, PTs and physio appointments for the day and confirm clients to trainer/ physio.
  • Taking payments for all classes.
  • Updating forms onto the system daily.
  • Knowing how to use the physio booking system.
  • Having knowledge of products on offer and providing clients with this information.
  • Ensuring you are aware of all first timers for the day, preparing their paper work in advance.
  • Encouraging clients to purchase our retail products when necessary, upselling at every opportunity
  • Following opening and closing procedures.
  • Replenishing reception stock throughout the day.
  • Listening to clients and reporting their feedback.
  • Living the Fresh values.

Personal Specification

Essential skills for the job

  • Sound understanding of health club customer goals and needs.
  • Proven track-record in customer service with a customer orientated approach to all tasks.
  • Knowledge of electronic booking systems.
  • The ability to passionately promote, market, and sell the service and club.
  • The ability to deal with customers, and their queries and concerns, with tact and sensitivity.
  • The ability to deliver a high-quality service with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to work on your initiative and as part of a team, and to enhance a one-team culture.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and IT literate.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Provide an amazing experience to our customers.
  • Be fun, enthusiastic, warm, and have lots of energy.
  • You must be organised, with an attention to detail, even when under pressure, and a finisher of tasks.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be confident and professional when liaising with customers and staff at all times.
  • Ability to multi-task across, and support, all areas of the business proactively.
  • Flexibility to cover the role at any of our clubs when required.


  • Previous experience in leisure/ health and fitness centres, or working in a customer service focused environment.
  • Experience in dealing with routine administration.
  • Evidence of achieving results and making a difference to customers.
  • A dynamic individual with a ‘can do’ results driven approach and attitude.
  • Demonstrates trust, openness and respect in dealings with people.
  • Flexible approach to tasks and work-load.
  • Ability to work flexible shift patterns outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Dealing with clients face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Responsibility of the maintenance of your workspace and working with a wider team.

  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends, to maintain and ensure consistent service delivery.

Party Leader/Duty Manager – Saturday/Sunday

  • Saturdays 8.30am-6.30pm (hours may vary depending on party bookings)
  • Sundays 10.00am-5.00pm (hours may vary depending on party bookings)

We’re looking for a lively, fun candidate to oversee Fresh Kids parties at the Fresh Sports Centre, Thamesmead School. You’ll take responsibility for the entire event; from liaising with parents to ensuring party rooms look amazing; and managing party assistants to ensure children and guests receive outstanding customer service.

This position promises to be lots of fun and very rewarding. We’ll need you to shine as an organiser and coordinator.
